Standing up for Science workshop - looking for partners

Sense about Science EU ( is an independent campaigning NGO which mobilises citizens and scientists to scrutinise evidence in EU policy making. We are looking for partners to develop a programme to give early career researchers the confidence to play an active role in EU policymaking. Many researchers feel evidence is not understood in Brussels but they don’t know how to make a difference. Where does evidence fit in EU policy making? Where are decisions really made? How can they best respond to consultations?
We would like to hold a day long workshop to give early career researchers the tools and insights to inform policy and have a stronger voice in Brussels. During the workshop, the participants will have the chance to talk directly to experienced EU policy makers and Brussels-based journalists, who will share what they expect from researchers and how evidence fits in EU policymaking.
The workshop builds on a programme of Voice of Young Science workshops which Sense about Science has been running for over 10 years in the UK and around the world. These workshops have created a network of over 2000 active researchers who stand up for science in public discussions. We want to grow this network across Europe.
This workshop will be offered to early career researchers for free, so we are looking for partners to help cover the costs of the event. Partnership will provide you with extra visibility and will guarantee you five places for your early career members.
