The SAGE Wheel Toolkit is designed to:

• Facilitate the process of designing effective Gender Equality Plans (GEPs) in higher education institutions. 
• Be adapted and used by Research Performing Organisations (RPOs) across Europe to promote European research that is gender balanced.

Toolkit Guidelines

The Toolkit guidelines provide a set of standards for:

1. Developing and implementing GEPs
2. Self-assessment for gender equality within institutions

And it also includes a framework for inter-institutional mentoring to guide the process.

The guidelines apply a four-step model for carrying out change:

1. Plan
2. Do
3. Check
4. Act
