The genSET Consensus Report gives a consensus view on the gender dimension in science and on the priorities for gender action in scientific institutions based on the shared knowledge and experience of 14 European science leaders.
Its guidelines focus on (1) generating greater equality of opportunity and treatment in the recruitment and advancement of women and men scientists as well as performance and work assessment and (2) incorporating gender and sex in the research process, in science knowledge making and in the science value system to improve the quality and excellence of scientific endeavours.
The report identifies four priority areas of the gender dimension in science: science knowledge making, deployment of human capital, institutional practices and processes, and regulation and compliance with gender-related processes and practices. It provides a number of specific recommendations for each area.
Organisational requirements and time frames depend on context and participant numbers.
