PASTEUR4OA aims to support the European Commission’s Recommendation to Member States of July 2012 that they develop and implement policies to ensure Open Access to all outputs from publicly-funded research.

PASTEUR4OA will help develop and/or reinforce open access strategies and policies at the national level and facilitate their coordination among all Member States. It will build a network of centers of expertise on open access and scholarly communication – the project “Key Nodes”- to collaboratively facilitate an aligned open access policy environment across the EU and in neighboring countries.

Through collaborative work between project partners and this international coordinated Knowledge Net, the project will identify, engage and inform policymakers in a series of regional meetings for research funders and research performing organizations, as well as individual engagements, as appropriate

  • Case studies on open access policies in different EU countries.
  • Advocacy materials, such as briefing papers and evidence-based policy reports, and reference materials that provide solid arguments in favor of developing open access policies.
  • Network of centers of expertise on open access and scholarly communication.
