This book brings together some of the key conceptual insights behind the EC strategy Open Innovation, Open Science, Open to the World, developed under Commissioner for Research, Science, and Innovation Moedas from 2015, and highlights actions that are already taking place or are being prepared. For example, the Open Innovation goal has led to a debate on a possible European Innovation Council and the creation of a Seal of Excellence to facilitate links between Horizon 2020 and other funding programmes.
