The NCCPE Planning for Change website provides guidelines to promote institutional changes that support public engagement. The guidelines are divided into nine focal points that should be addressed when shifting an institution’s culture towards public engagement: mission, leadership, communication, support, learning, recognition, staff, students and public. Each focal point contains specific areas for careful attention and provides helpful resources.
In addition, the website offers the EDGE Tool: a self-assessment tool that institutions can use to (1) evaluate their current support of public engagement in each of the focal points, (2) identify areas for change and (3) access resource packs to facilitate that change.
