IRGC Resource Guide on Stakeholder Engagement

Uploaded by RRI Tools on 01 November 2015

International Risk Governance Council (IRGC)

The IRGC Resource Guide on Stakeholder Engagement, inspired by the IRGC Risk Governance Framework, is an online guide for developing and implementing science-based stakeholder involvement in research, policy, strategies and practices. It aims to help practitioners engage with stakeholders by giving them background information on stakeholder-engagement perspectives and guiding them to the best available materials on the topic. To that end, the guide offers an annotated bibliography of existing manuals for stakeholder involvement.

IRGC is a neutral, independent, non-profit foundation whose purpose is to help improve understanding and governance of systemic risks that affect human health and safety, the environment, the economy and society at large.

This guide is actually a catalogue of selected guides—and not the most obvious selections—categorised by three clear-cut expected contributions: communication, feedback and co-determination.

The website includes:

  • an introduction to the resource guide
  • the expected contributions (a search tool)
  • the list of manuals, an annotated bibliography containing 28 manuals (last updated in January 2014).
