The tools are clustered in 6 groups: budget tools, debate tools, policy tools, information tools, oversight tools and public service tools. For each tool, the toolkit answers the following questions: In which situations is it used? Who is it aimed at? How is it used? Who has used it? Where can users find more information?
Though the toolkit was developed specifically for Northern Ireland, most of the resources and methods can be applied in very different contexts. However, its focus is on public engagement in the community/society, not on RRI or research/science.
